SampleRight® Kit Letter from Atlas Scientific Technologies, Inc.
You may have received a recent letter sent on behalf of Atlas Scientific Technologies, Inc. (Atlas) concerning ITEL Laboratories and the use of Atlas' SampleRight® asbestos collection kit. We've compiled the frequently asked questions on the letter.
- What was Atlas' relationship with ITEL?
- Atlas was previously contracted by ITEL to perform asbestos analysis. ITEL's asbestos analysis is now performed by GLE Associates (online: http://www.gleassociates.com/).
- Does ITEL still test samples for asbestos?
- Yes, ITEL still provides fast and convenient one-stop asbestos and pricing analysis on flooring samples.
- Can I still use the SampleRight® asbestos collection kit to send samples to ITEL?
- Please do not use the SampleRight asbestos collection kit for sending samples to ITEL. Regular ITEL shipping supplies can still be ordered and used for shipping samples; you do not need to discontinue use of ITEL's Sample Submittal Kits, Individual Kits, or Adjuster Kits as they do not involve asbestos collection. - Do I have to use a specific kit to collect samples?
- No, there are various methods for collecting flooring samples for asbestos analysis. When collecting samples, ITEL recommends following all applicable OSHA and EPA guidelines. You can download a summary of asbestos collection guidelines in PDF format at this link.
