ITEL's Original Team (1993)

Replacement flooring is one of the highest expenses insurance companies incur on a yearly basis. For years, insurance companies did their best to determine value at the loss site. Unless the homeowner or contractor indicated that the flooring was of greater value, the loss was settled for one of several average prices provided by estimating systems. Disputes would often arise if the settlement price was questioned.

ITEL’s founder, Mark Mullins, recognized the need for a process to ensure a fair settlement value for both the homeowner and the insurance company. In 1993, ITEL was formed and began assisting property insurance companies, contractors, vendors and property owners settle claims. In 2008, ITEL became part of the Riverside Company (read the press release).

From it's beginnings with carpet testing, ITEL has since expanded its services to include vinyl, wood, laminate, ceramic and stone flooring. ITEL also matches roofing and siding, giving insurance carriers, contractors, and policyholders a reliable source for a wide range of testing needs.

ITEL is proud to have processed over three million tests since its inception.
